US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the US will 'take over the Gaza Strip' to dismantle the unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site while he envisions 'long term' ownership of the redevelopment of the territory. During a joint press conference with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump reportedly said, "The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site.”

According to Associated Press, he also said that he hasn't ruled out deploying U.S. troops to support reconstruction of Gaza and he envisions “long-term” U.S. ownership of a redevelopment of the territory.
