Celebrities including John Arcilla and Derek Ramsay have expressed their dismay over the viral video of a security guard kicking out a young sampaguita vendor from a mall establishment.
Arcilla shared the viral video on his Instagram page, describing it as saddening and questioning the guard’s action, which he said called for a “reprimand.”

Actor Rocco Nacino also extended his sympathies to the girl vendor, writing, “Siguro kung nakiusap ng maayos ung guard, baka nakipagcooperate ung bata. Hindi lahat nadadaan sa galit.”

Posted on Wednesday night, the video went viral on social media. The guard was captured shooing away the girl in school uniform who was selling sampaguita in front of a mall.
Article continues after this advertisementAs the girl refused to leave the area, the guard was seen destroying the sampaguita garlands that the girl was selling. In response, the girl struck the guard several times with the broken garlands.
The video was met with mixed reactions from netizens; however, on Thursday morning, the management of SM Megamall dismissed the security guard involved in the incident, stressing that they were “sympathizing” with the young vendor.
