India's ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was in attendance for the Coldplay concert on Sunday, January 26. The Indian Test cricket team's vice-captain, who is currently out with a back injury, was seen having great time at the concert. (More Cricket News)

Bumrah was met with massive cheers from the crowd when Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin called him out in the audience.

The British band served up an incredible tribute to the fast bowler that included a few lines. The band jokingly stated that they did not enjoy him bowling especially against England.

"There won't be a vacuum. Someone will come in my place, for sure. All the sports are like that. Sachin Tendulkar was there and now there is Virat Kohli, and someone will take his place tomorrow. So, Sreejesh was there yesterday, but someone else will come and take his place tomorrow," the goalkeeping stalwart told PTI in an interview at the India House in Paris.

The band also had Bumrah's Test jersey on the stage as a mark of respect to the pacer at his home ground in Ahmedabad. This isn't the first time Coldplay mentioned Bumrah in their concert in India. Earlier, during their concert in Mumbai, the band played a video of the pacer running through the English batting line-up during the 2024 series.

In the same concert, Chris Martin jokingly admitted that he had received a legal complaint from Bumrah's lawyers using his name during the event.

"I'm so sorry, but I have to read a letter from Jasprit Bumrah's lawyer. I have to do this because, otherwise, we could be sent to prison and wouldn't be able to perform in Ahmedabad," Martin had said.
